The EK judo in 2016 will be held in Kazan from 21 to 24 April 2016. By this shall also participate Dutch judoka. The NIS provides the images on television and the Internet. Opportunities for the Netherlands to a medal?
During the last World Cup in 2013 in Rio de Janeiro Netherlands managed two silver and three bronze paste to win. Henk Grol won silver and is participating again now. He now hopes to win gold. Dex Elmont took bronze last year and will of course want a better color. Marhinde Verkerk took silver last year but now does not count because of a cruciate ligament injury. Kim Polling and Anicka van Emden took bronze last year and will want to be better.

Japan is the best country in the world judo. It has most medals at the world championships through 2011: 112 gold medals, 74 silver medals, 81 bronze medals. That makes a total of 267. France is the best European judo land and is in second place: 41 gold medals, 27 silver medals, 61 bronze medals and so 129 total. The Netherlands is not quite as bad with a seventh place: 14 gold medals, 19 silver medals, 36 bronze medals and 69 medals in total. Thus the countries like Russia and the United States leaves behind.
