Rocky Road Chocolate

A delicious recipe for any chocolate lover. Delicious with coffee, or as a treat for any party. Easy and fast.

  • 400 grams of milk chocolate
  • Marshmallows
  • Unsalted peanuts or hazelnuts
  • Coconut biscuits

  • Melt the chocolate. You can do this in several ways. The easiest way is to do it in a microwave safe bowl and put in the microwave. Heat still 1 minute on the hottest setting. Remove the dish from the oven, stir briefly and repeat until all the chocolate is completely melted. Another way is a bain marie. Bring a pan of water to boil on the stove. Put the pan on top of a bowl where you put in the chocolate. Since the boiling water, the scale on which heats the pan condition, melt the chocolate. Note that the water does not boil too hard so it does not have to boil.
  • While you melt the chocolate cut your peanuts or hazelnuts and the bacon into small pieces. The coconut biscuits you break into small pieces. This mix you all together. Add the peanuts or hazelnuts, bacon and coconut biscuits as much as you likes. Mind you, or that everything under the chocolate to sit.
  • One of the shells you cover with cling film. Make sure the scale is completely covered, even the edges. So the chocolate does not stick to the bottom so you get the easy out when it is cured.
  • Once the chocolate has melted, add the mixture of peanuts or hazelnuts, bacon and biscuits to the chocolate mixture. Stir completely briefly together. Not too long because then melt all the bacon. That is also why you should use bacon and no marshmallows that melt too fast.
  • Fold the edges of the cling film so that the top is covered. Push this not because then you get it anymore from when the chocolate has hardened.
  • Put this at least 4 hours in the refrigerator so that the chocolate can be quite hard. Thereafter, it can be stored both in and out of the refrigerator.

Variation tips

  • Replace 400 grams of milk chocolate with dark or white chocolate
  • Sprinkle some coconut for decoration or almonds over the top when it is still soft
  • Replace the peanuts or hazelnuts cashews or almonds
  • Add raisins

Other tips

Rocky Road Chocolate is very nice to make during a children's party. Let the children themselves the bacon, biscuits and peanuts cut / break. When the chocolate has melted, the children can add their carved pieces and stir. For each child make their own dish so they can choose how much they want to add all ingredients. To decorate the children would also have speckles, hearts or other decorative candies to be spreading. Also tum tummetjes there through it very tasty. After several hours, the cured and every child has his own Rocky Road Chocolate cake. Here they may still be spraying whipped cream on before they eat it.
